thinking of doing a midweek karaoke jam but am not sure. I did these drawings so just in case I cancel, I can still feel like something happened
suspect device #2 signing at desert island 4/6
jesus christ, i love doing signings. this was the most fun i’ve had in a long time. i sent the james joyce comic files to the printer at 3:15 am that morning so that sweetened the deal of getting to go on mini-vacation in NY.
in the book, i’m manwiched between SD editor/great cartoonist josh bayer (the guy next to me built like a tank) and domatille collardey, who kills it. thanks to josh for putting all this on and to sasha pearl for a banjo show standing up on the desert island counter, and to everyone for coming out.

That’s a nice looking pile of book right there.
Fantagraphics Books is approaching the release of Nancy Is Happy, their first Nancy collection. This book covers 1943-1945, which were terrific years (…Nancywise, I mean).
Listen up: every collection of classic comics that Fantragraphics has put together (from Peanuts to Popeye to Pogo to Prince Valiant) has benefited from their meticulous strip restoration and gorgeous design.
This Nancy book continues that pedigree, and is easily the nicest package of Nancy strips ever assembled. And the fact that this book has been delayed for so long is evidence of the care that FB put into it: they sought out and made use of private newspaper strip collections to ensure that they were scanning the best possible reproductions for this book.
