Harvey’s wife Joyce is spearheading this effort to get a Pekar memorial created at the Cleveland library, where he spent most of his time. As an incentive for $99 donors, the notoriously aloof Alan Moore has volunteered to participate in an exclusive web conference to field whatever questions come his way. – Ed Piskor

This is my favorite part of the Harvey Pekar project that launched this morning. If you haven’t seen it yet, Harvey’s wife and collaborator, Joyce Brabner, is working to realize a memorial statue of Harvey and graphic novels, in the form of a big, interactive desk (full of comic books!), that kids can crawl on, draw on, stuff their work in. And best of all, it’s going to live in the Cleveland Public Library.
