Q:I found the 2003 SPX Travelogue in a used bookstore in Berkeley and I'm enjoying it so far. just wanted to holler at you

That’s cool!

There’s a lot of love out there for the old SPX anthologies.  People always ask about bringing them back…  Maybe one of these days!

For folks who may not be aware, SPX used to do a printed anthology every year, sometimes focused on a simple theme, like travel, for example (photo totally swiped from jamietanner).

The final SPX anthology was published in 2005 which holy crap was ten years ago… It’s great that people remember them fondly and that they’re still turning up and being re-discovered.

You can find some mighty fine work by some incredible artists.  Every one of these is a time capsule for what was going on in indie comics at the time.

Thanks for sharing!

My first officially published work was in that book too. And it was also pretty vulgar.
