Hi hi, I’m Joy the pug girl from SPX! Jade the three-legged pug is my eight year old rescue dog, who now acts as my therapy animal and, as I recounted several times for fellow SPXites, even saved me from a mugger. I have several pug-photo-posts already, and within the next couple weeks I’ll be announcing and starting in on my art blog’s Pug Week, which, for seven glorious days, will be all pug art all the time! Those of you who met Jade and me at the con got a sneak peek of one of the first paintings of Pug Week on the back of my business card.

Jade is always a major inspiration for me, as is her one-eyed rescue pug sister Jasmine, and they show up in my work, intended and unintended, all the time. One of my future projects will be a childrens’ book per each dog, telling their stories of adoption, disability, and love, with numbers and links in the back encouraging the reader to rescue an animal rather than buy one through a breeder or pet store. Both books will be variations on the title PUGS WITH PROBLEMS
