Jealousy.
I just got this in the mail!!!!! The Rock’Art portfolio book from Rock en Seine!
It is an A4 size book which contains 62 posters (each done by a different artist for each band that appeared on this festival) and is printed beautifully in full color over a thick matte paper. The posters are detachable so you can rip your favorites and put them up your walls.
I contributed with a poster, along with other amazing international artists. The pictures above show posters by Kerozen, Benjamin Marra, Camille Lavaud, Lika Nüssli, Mayumi Otero, Marguerite Sauvage and Dorotheé de Monfried. You can see all the posters here.I have two extra copies which are going for $25 each, so if you’re interested write to me at gatosaurio@gmail.com ; - )
SMALL DRAWINGS. You know all those fourths and one-hour drawings I’m always posting here? WELL, I made a little book of some of my favorites, you can buy it right here. If you already pre-ordered my new Diary Comics #4 (as of press time), then I’m going to send you one free for being an early adopter; otherwise, besides buying it here, you can buy SMALL DRAWINGS straight from my face at this weekend’s SPX, where I’ll be set up with Koyama Press, selling all my prints and books and originals and stuff. I’ll give you sex advice too (if you want it). Here’s some free advice, just to show I know what I’m talking about: slow down.
O is for Owen Meany
from A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving
There was a time when John Irving was hands down my favorite author. I still love him but at a certain point just read too many of his novels and got a little worn out by his themes and tricks (which happens to me with any author after about 5 or 6 books). But Irving was a real gateway novelists for me. He is how I transitioned from reading solely Stephen King and Dean Koontz books to more literary authors like John Updike and Philip Roth. A Prayer for Owen Meany is actually not my favorite book by Irving. I’d place it third behind A World According to Garp and The Hotel New Hampshire but it was the first of his that I read and it had a pretty big affect me. I can still hear Owen’s wheezy, ALL CAPS voice in my head.Check out other people’s O entries at AlphaBooks.Tumblr.com.
In the month of March I decided that I would make a 5-10 page mini-comic for the kids at work. It would be about two kids, a half-elf boy and a young witch teaming up to fight a dark wizard; it would be called A QUICK TRIP. But then things got out of hand. Here we are, 3 months of really hard (fun) work later, and A Quick Trip wasn’t so quick after all.
It turned out to be 51 pages long, with a lot of color.
Now, this is my first comic, and since it’s so long and in color I definitely can’t afford to get it printed nicely. But A Quick Trip is my baby. All I want is to be able to show it to everyone that I possibly can.
Here’s how you can get one:
-reblog this post
-on August 12th, i will choose two rebloggers at random to win a handmade copy of the book and an original illustration from me.
you can also:
-DONATE ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY $2 AND UP TO MY PAYPAL (andpannell@gmail.com) AND RECEIVE A REAL NICE PDF!!-
-reblog this post, dammit. it can’t hurt.
Seriously, spread this around. I’ve posted a lot more of A Quick Trip on my page, so go ahead and check that out too. This book really means everything to me, and i want to be able to show everyone i can.
I’m also offering blood atonements, seek within.
We’ve reached the goal to unlock the hardcover editions!

I basically have a temporary nerd crush on Matt Gargan which cannot articulate decently.
