Richard Thompson’s GOLD IGNATZ Award. First time we’ve ever presented such a thing. We just wanted to acknowledge the untimely retirement of one of the most distinctive artists working in the comics medium. Thompson’s Cul de Sac is one of the best newspaper strips in living memory. It will surely be missed. We wish Richard all the best in his recovery from Parkinson’s disease and look forward to the day when he returns to cartooning full time!
