Being at SPX was like coming home.
Honestly, I get the chills. Let me tell ya, we strive to make the Small Press Expo the best indie comics event in the country. But also the NICEST, HAPPIEST festival you visit all year.
One of the things that makes SPX so special is that it feel like family. There are no barriers between organizers, attendees and staff. We like it that way and never aim to change.
This was a big year with major staff changes, the loss of an executive committee member, major new charitable initiatives to manage and as fine a slate of guests as we’ve ever seen.
Top all that off with an earthquake that, more than you might guess, nearly did us in and to see the show come together as well as it did is absolute the best feeling in the world.
SPX is entering into a new phase of its existence and we’re excited for all of you to come along with us. Thanks for being here and helping make the show happen.
